The Kathy A. Taft Memorial Women’s Roundtable Access Scholarship
Kathy A. Taft was a founding member of the Women’s Roundtable Board of Directors. Kathy was recognized by the Women’s Roundtable in 2007 as one of 100 Incredible ECU Women.
She graduated cum laude from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1981. Kathy was a strong advocate for education serving as a member of the Pitt County Board of Education and the Board of Education for the state of North Carolina for many years. Kathy was a founding member of Pitt County Communities in Schools.
In 2011, the Women’s Roundtable Board of Directors unanimously voted to establish the Kathy A. Taft Memorial Women’s Roundtable Access Scholarship to honor Kathy’s legacy. This scholarship is awarded to ECU undergraduate students who demonstrate both financial need and proven academic potential.
